I was traveling solo in Egypt and I decided to book a hostel rather than a hotel. Wanees Hostel was amazing, great facilities, the staff is very friendly and helpful when I needed them. They are also very responsive via Whatsapp in everything I was asking for anytime during the day - even late in the night to request for a wake up alarm. I totally recommend it and it's worth it even for small groups, solo travelers or even group trips. You are in the heart of the downtown city centre. Despite the fact that the entrance of the building in the first look may put you second thoughts just go uptairs and you will get used to it. Super friendly the guys there. The hostel is very clean, with well-maintained rooms and bathrooms. You can tell the staff really care about keeping the place comfortable and tidy. Speaking of the staff, they were incredibly kind and helpful — always smiling, offering great tips about the area, helping with tours, and even assisting with transportation. The location is perfect — close to everything, easy to find, and in a safe and quiet area. If there’s a rooftop or terrace, the view and vibe are just the cherry on top — the perfect place to relax after a long day of exploring. The price is very reasonable for what you get — great service, comfort, and a memorable stay. It’s definitely great value for money. I highly recommend Wanees Hostel to solo travelers, backpackers, and anyone looking to experience authentic hospitality in a cozy, friendly environment. I’d definitely stay here again!

I stayed in female dormitory 3D 2N and very satisfied with my stay. I requested for lower bank bed but its not available that time. •Rooms--clean, organized, curtain for each bed for privacy, slanted ladder for bunk beds which makes it safer and easier to climb up. AC was off the whole night but its not hot when sleeping (not sure if they open in the morning), with balcony where u can hang your washed clothes •Toilet--clean, each cubicle has toilet bowl (without bidet) and shower, mixed toilet •Staff are very helpful and nice especially Ibrahim, Bibo, guy in morning shift at 4th floor (forgot his name) & female receptionist. There much willing to give recommendations to food, stores, tours etc. All can speak English well. •Free water, coffee, tea, milk powder •Breakfast has good amount of serving •Building looks old and scary outside but the interior of the hostel where they are located in 2f and 4f are very stylish & quiet. Not expecting interior to be very chic •allowed us to stay our bags after check out •location is very strategic since located in downtown

Lovely hostel in the heart of bustling downtown Cairo. Ramy at reception booked all my tours to Alexandria, Aswan, Luxor, Hurghada, Giza and the black and white desert. At all times I found the tour guides and drivers to be very professional. Also, Alex and all the staff made my stay very comfortable and recommended many places to eat with delicious meals. The hostel is conveniently located within walking distance to many coffee shops, shisha cafes, restaurants, Egyptian museum, and bars. Public transport is easily accessible, and Uber in Cairo works perfectly well. The hostel is very clean, recently refurbished and the staff were responsive and attentive. I had beautiful view of the sunset from my room with a mini balcony. The Wi-Fi was strong, daily breakfast was provided, housekeeping was efficient. 1100% recommend this place for your stay in Cairo and I hope you enjoy your time in beautiful Egypt.

Good location, close to a lot of things like restaurants, bakeries, shops. You could pretty much rock up with nothing but your bank card and your passport and get kitted out from shops in the area. Staff spoke very good English and helped organize tours, gave transportation advice, rated museums etc. Bedrooms had enormous lockers at the bottoms of the bunkers, could easily fit a whole suitcase in there. Rooms also have a row of hooks for each bunkbed MORE HOSTELS SHOULD FOLLOW THEIR EXAMPLE, total godsend in a dorm. Each bed had privacy curtains, an outlet, and a reading lamp. The 4th floor also had a drinking water dispenser, so could refill my bottle everyday, very grateful for that. There were two fridges to store food and a tiny kitchenette if you wanted to cook

Anna

5-8 min walking distance to the Museum and subway station, the hostel is centrally located. Shared bathroom is better than most other hostels. Good enough water pressure and hot enough. Also a big plus is it provides hair dryer. Kitchen can be used for simple cooking. Room is clean and spacious. Functioning wifi (but much stable and faster connection in the common area than the room) Staff is nice and polite. English well-spoken. I like their paintings with ancient Egypt decorating the hallway.
